You are invited to attend
A Tea Party at the J.W. Roberts House in Woody Point 2 – 4 pm
that will take us back in time to when tea parties were a regular afternoon social affair
This special event is to mark the 90th anniversary (June 1, 1922) of the fire at Woody Point that destroyed most of the waterfront. The JW Roberts House survived the fire and still stands today. It is now a Heritage Structure registered by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador and is used as an information centre and a typical model of homes from the early 20th century.
Get into the spirit of the event by wearing a spring hat and even period costume if you wish. A winning ribbon will be presented to the 3 most inventive hats. You are also most welcome to come in the “fashion of today”.
Please phone to order your tickets by Monday, May 14th, if possible . We will hold sold tickets for pick up at the door for people from outside of the Bonne Bay area.
Contacts for Tickets:
Reba – 453-2272
Marina – 453-2289
Town of Woody Point Office – 453-2273
We look forward to seeing you there !
The Tea Party is sponsored by The Town of Woody Point
Catered by the Funtastics 55+ Club

Annual Writers at Woody Point
Richard Ford, Michael Ondaatje, Lisa Moore, Donna Morrissey,Alan Doyle & more
| We are thrilled that this year’s event will feature more opportunities than ever to experience a line-up of world-class authors and musicians. In addition to our traditional home in the Woody Point Heritage Theatre, we have expanded to a newly-restored heritage property on the historic Woody Point waterfront, The Merchant Warehouse, which offers the same intimate atmosphere for which the festival has become famous. With the addition of a new, book-club style event at the Parks Canada Discovery Centre and a special Al Pittman tribute at the Merchant Warehouse, audiences will have a greater choice of events than ever before. Our host once again will be Shelagh Rogers, from CBC Radio’s The Next Chapter. We are pleased to announce that this year she will be joined by Angela Antle, formerly of CBC Radio’s Weekend Arts Magazine. |
